Thursday Mornings

Working from simple still-life arrangements, you will complete a small painting each class. At the end of the course, you will have a collection of small paintings and will have developed drawing skills, painting techniques and confidence to create work in your own choice of oil or acrylic. Class is suitable for all levels.

January 14 - March 3, 2016

Thursday mornings

Discover the joy of drawing. Learn the secrets of drawing realistically with charcoal and pencil. Gain confidence and skill with proportion, shading and composition. Learn to draw subject matter from still life to the human figure. Students will receive individual attention in a positive manner. Class is suitable for all levels.

 

PORTRAIT DRAWING

January 12 - February 2, 2016

Four week mini session

In four weeks, learn the basics of portraiture using black and white materials such as pencil and charcoal. This class will explore the shape and anatomy of the human profile, the type of portraits one can draw and the shading styles used to capture light and texture.

April 12 - May 3, 2016

Four week mini session

Students with drawing portrait experience can take this class to expand upon their knowledge of portraiture, delving into colours using acrylic or oil paint. Learn how to mix skin colours, paint new textures and capture character in paint.
